Zorain Chakraborty
I discovered my love for fencing in a demo class at Kaizen Academy in early 9th grade, before making the switch to SAS, where I've spent the majority of my fencing career. I graduating from the Bush School and will be attending Emory University in the fall, studying biology/pre-medicine. Emory does not have a fencing club, but I will be using one of their many incredible gyms, and open fencing at one of Atlanta's many clubs!
Harrison Cowler
Harry graduated from Garfield HS. He started fencing in Brooklyn at Brooklyn Bridge Fencing Center at 7 yrs old. Harry is a certified lifeguard for the Seattle Parks Dept and works at Medgar Evers Pool. This summer he will be lifeguarding at Madison Park and Madrona Beaches and will be taking a solo trip to France, Switzerland and Spain. In the fall he will start college and take the Seattle Firefighters Cadet training. Harry will definitely continue fencing!
Lucca Goldin
Lucca is graduating from the Northwest School on June 9th. He will be attending Embry Riddle to study aerospace engineering. Lucca has been fencing at Salle Auriol Seattle since second grade. While Embry Riddle does have a fencing club, they don’t have saber so he will be exploring other things. He’s looking forward to visiting Nikita and the gang during holidays.
Dillon Hogue
Dillon's introduction to fencing was in 6th grade at the Evergreen School in Shoreline. After a few classes and camps in middle school, a summer camp brought him to Salle Auriol, and he joined the saber class in 10th grade. He is graduating from The Downtown School; this fall he will go to North Seattle College, with plans to head to the University of Washington afterwards. He'll be taking a break from fencing for now, but hopes to return to fencing at some point later on.
Thank you to Kundry, Coach Eric and Coach Nikita for all their support, and to all the SAS saber fencers!
Spencer Hogue
Spencer is graduating from The Downtown School and will be attending UW Seattle in the Fall. His first fencing experience was in 6th grade with Shaye Whitmer at The Evergreen School in Shoreline. Looking to do more fencing after middle school, he enrolled in a summer saber camp at SAS, and in 10th grade he joined the saber class.
Spencer plans to take some time off to get settled into college, but he hopes to get back to fencing in the future. Thank you to Coach Eric, Coach Nikita, Kundry, and all of the saber fencers at SAS!
Sabrina Holmes
Sabrina started fencing when she was 12 years old, following in the footsteps of her older brother. She has been fencing saber for almost 6 years. Throughout her time at SAS, Sabrina has assisted Coach Nikita and Coach Eric with various beginner and youth classes. She is graduating from Bellevue College with her high school diploma and Associates degree. In the fall, Sabrina will be attending Drew University where she will continue to fence on their NCAA team. She plans on studying philosophy and political science on the pre-law track.
She is so grateful to Nikita, Kundry, and all of the other phenomenal people at SAS!
