Session 7: August 10 - 14
Foil, Epee or Saber
We teach all 3 types of Olympic fencing: epee, foil, saber. Each week of camp focuses on one type of fencing. There is no ‘best’ type to start with and skills learned for one translate to the other two. We strongly encourage students to take more than one week of camp and try more than one type of fencing, especially if they are interested in pursuing our ongoing fencing classes after camp.
Students learn footwork, bladework, and fencing tactics in a fun and safe environment. In addition to drills and bouting they will participate in a variety of fencing activities and games to re-enforce the actions and strategies of fencing and to increase co-ordination and balance. This is an active camp, but fencing is not solely a physical sport and many kids enjoy the mental challenge it also has to offer.
The total cost for half day camp is $335 paid in 2 payments: a $85 non-refundable deposit and a $250 balance.
The total cost for all day camp is $590 paid in 2 payments: a $150 non-refundable deposit and a $440 balance.
The non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration for each camp and the balance is due 4 weeks before the first day of camp. You will receive an invoice to pay the balance online. If you are signing up for a camp that is less than 4 weeks away the entire payment is due upon registration.
Registration opens online on Friday January 30th
