SAS is pleased to announce our new Assistant Saber Coach, Mylos Gaffney!
Mylos is from Seattle and began fencing at Salle Auriol Seattle in 2011, at the age of eight. He trained under the tutelage of Coach Nikita until graduating in 2021. He regularly medaled at local events and also competed nationally.
Following his departure, Mylos fenced for Cleveland State University before moving to New York City. In New York he taught both foil and saber for numerous organizations including New Amsterdam Fencing Academy, Sebastiani Fencing, Manhattan Fencing, and others.
Mylos will be responsible for supporting the youth, junior and adult saber program and developing beginner and intermediate fencers in saber. In addition to teaching group classes and training sessions, Mylos is available for individual lessons.
Mylos begins his new role at Salle Auriol Seattle on September 2nd. Please take some time to welcome Mylos to Salle Auriol Seattle when you see him at the club!
