We have moved - Salle 6 info

We have moved - Salle 6 info

After many months of hard work we have finally made the transition to Salle 6. There are still some things to be done, but all activities will take place in the new club.

Why did we move? Our membership has outgrown our current space, limiting our ability to offer existing members the quality fencing experience they deserve, and also limits our ability to offer fencing opportunities to new fencers.

This is not new for us, we have moved five times in 31 years.  Salle 5 was 15,000 square feet and Salle 6 is 27,000 square feet. We hope you can come see it soon!

Salle 6 Address: 1461 Elliott Ave W.
1 block north of the old club, on the same side of the street.

Parking:  We still have the same 2 parking lots.  The "Elliott Junction" gravel lot immediately to the south of Salle 6 is now the closest lot.  There is also parking in the alley.  We will still have use of the the Lee Street gravel immediately to the south of Salle 5.

All schedules remain the same.

SAS Welcomes New Epee Coach

SAS Welcomes New Epee Coach

SAS is pleased to announce our new Assistant Epee Coach, Myles Luedecke!

Myles is from Missoula Montana. He started fencing at the age of 10 in an after school program and has been hooked ever since. He started helping out early and quickly fell in love with coaching. For a couple years he really steered the curriculum and culture in Missoula, and after, transferred to Lawrence University. At Lawrence, under coach Eric Momberg, Myles became Captain his second year and helped build the epee side of the program. Most recently he took a year to lead the epee program at Culver Academies, under TJ McNally.

Outside of fencing, he can be a bit of a health nut. He likes playing competitive super auto pets, most physical activities, and is learning and loving to cook.

Myles will be responsible for supporting the youth, junior and adult epee program and developing beginner and intermediate fencers in epee.  In addition to teaching group classes and training sessions, Myles is available for individual lessons.

Myles begins his new role at Salle Auriol Seattle on June 17th.  Please take some time to welcome Myles to Salle Auriol Seattle when you see him at the club!
